A Nationwide Movement Takes Root!
Since the book’s publication, it’s been exciting to witness how Last Child in the Woods has inspired No Child Left Inside initiatives in forty states. Companies including Subaru and REI; associations such as the Sierra Club, The Trust for Public Land, and The Nature Conservancy; and the U.S. Department of the Interior have all recognized the importance of Louv’s work and are now embracing and promoting its message. - May 2010: A campaign was launched to follow the lead of a few other states around the country and pass a N.C. Children’s Outdoor Bill of Rights.
